What it is

One day. One campus. Dozens of merit badges.

Scouts BSA troops travel to Auburn for a Saturday packed with merit-badge classes taught by Auburn professors and Alpha Phi Omega brothers. Tradition meets the modern campus.

For scouts

Earn merit badges in a college academic environment with access to resources you wouldn't normally see at the troop level — labs, studios, professors who do this for a living.

For troops

Bring your unit to a college town for the day or the weekend. Camping options nearby, a single online payment per troop, and Auburn hospitality at every stop.

For the Plains

Run by Auburn's Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Omega — founded in 1927, built on Leadership, Friendship, and Service. War Eagle, hey.

IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ.

THERE WILL BE NO MERIT BADGE UNIVERSITY IN 2026.

After a great deal of consideration, Delta Chapter has reached the difficult decision that we are unable to continue to sponsor Merit Badge University at Auburn University at this time. We regret that we are not able to continue this project that has served thousands of scouts over the past thirty years, but changes in policies and circumstances beyond our control has made continuation of the project no longer feasible at this time. Delta Chapter remains committed to providing service to scouting in other ways.

Bring your troop to The Plains.

Registration opens each year a few months before the event. Once a troop account is created, scouts and adults can be added or edited any time before the deadline.
